Working Together for a Common Vision.AMAT COMMITTEE DESCRIPTORS
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT The Business Development Committee is responsible for conference planning, fundraising and securing strategic partnerships. The goals include working in partnership with AMAT committees to develop and implement a relevant annual conference that meets the needs of our membership. We are also responsible for raising enough funds to cover the costs of the annual conference and facilitating partnerships that can benefit AMAT and its members. If you are interested in joining an action-packed committee, please contact the current chairperson Ruth Duncan Bell.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS Newly formed, the Business Operations Committee provides fiscal and budgetary planning and management for AMAT. In tandem with this focus, the Business Operations team also oversees office administration duties, including maintenance/updating of the organizations' Web site. If you are interested in financial matters and/or business operations, this is the committee for YOU! For more information about this committee please contact committee chairperson Jeff Thomas.
BYLAWS The Bylaws Committee facilitates decisions that govern AMAT, such as board member elections, establishing a voting quorum, and (anything else??). This group also drafts and maintains the organization's bylaws, which state the purpose of AMAT. If you are bylaw-savvy and would like to join this stellar team, please contact committee chairperson Kenneth Boyd.
PUBLIC RELATIONS The Public Relations Committee strives to inspire and inform AMAT members about important news announcements regarding organ/tissue donation, while also raising visibility of the organization among external media outlets. The Public Relations Committee develops and distributes a quarterly newsletter, AMAT Connections, which is designed to showcase innovative best practices, member spotlights, and professional development highlights from AMAT members across the board. AMAT Connections also includes perspective from our president. If you are energetic, and love inspiring and educating others, we welcome your input and your energy! This committee spearheads a number of diversity initiatives, including workshops. In addition, this committee partners with several sub-committees, including: The African American Work Group, the Asian/Pacific Islander Work Group, and the Hispanic/Latino Work Group. Each of these work groups focuses on myriad diversity efforts that range from updating marketing collateral (brochures) to providing topical "best practices" Webinars that highlight the experience and expertise of our membership in promoting donor designations.
